Will Smith Headed For Shoot In Costa Rica
After Earth is the latest Will Smith film, parts of which will be shot in Costa Rica starting February 6th. Industry reports that the crew has already left for Costa Rica, with Smith and his son, Jaden, following in the coming days.
The movie’s screen writer, Gary Whitta, has tweeted about the shoot, saying "This week the AFTER EARTH cast & crew moves to Costa Rica to begin filming! Then onto Philadelphia, Utah, and Northern California".
The movie is set in a future in which humans no longer live on Earth after it becomes inhospitable. Will Smith is playing a hero, while Jaden Smith (his real life son) plays his on screen son, a failure as a warrior. When the two crash-land on Earth, it’s up to Jaden’s character to save his dad.
This is not the first time the superstar is coming to Costa Rica, last July Smith was spotted vacationing in Costa Rica and possibly scouting a film location.
Smith and several others visited the area of La Fortuna and Guanacaste.
The filming location(s) has not been released.
